An estimated 285 million people around the world are living with impaired vision, but with access to quality eye care, 80 percent of all vision impairment can be prevented or cured. The nonprofit organization ORBIS works to eliminate avoidable blindness in developing countries by providing hands-on training to local doctors, nurses and other eye care professionals, partnering with local hospitals and advocating for policies and awareness about eye health.
